  • Abstract:  When it comes to super-lightweight laptops there are two camps: the MacBook Air and everything else. There are plenty of smaller-scale notebooks that come close to matching the Air for size or performance, but no one other than Apple has quite managed to ...

  • Abstract:  Thinner, lighter than AirThe 900X3A, also known as the Series 9, is nearly identical in size to the 13inch MacBook Air. It's ever so slightly thinner and lighter, but you'd never notice it unless you came armed with calipers and scales.First impressions a...

  • Ruggedized, sleek aluminum design. Powerful Core i5 Sandy Bridge processor. 6 hours of battery life. Third USB port and Ethernet are features you don't get with the MacBook Air 13-inch. Backlit keyboard. Excellent typing experience. Anti-glare screen.
  • Expensive. Ports are difficult to access.
  • The Samsung Series 9 (Microsoft) is every bit as luxurious, thin, and well-equipped as the competitionand it'll cost you a pretty penny. Buy it now...

  • Overall, we can't help feeling that the Samsung promises more than it delivers. It's also more than £200 more expensive than the equivalent MacBook Air, so while the Samsung is well-matched with Apple's contender, it doesn't do enough to beat it. ...

  • Impressively light. Backlit keyboard. Large touch pad. Good battery life. SSD is reasonably fast. Bundled software is unobtrusive
  • Multi-touch touch pad still dismays. Terrible speakers. Doesn't support 5GHz 802.11n. Gigabit Ethernet limited to USB 2.0 speeds. Micro HDMI to HDMI converter not included. microSD port isn't as useful as SD. Pricey
  • Samsung's Series 9 is a gorgeously thin piece of equipment, which would be great for any traveller looking for something light, thin and portable. If the MacBook Air is out of the question due to OS X, this may be your next port of call — just be prepa...
