  • Full HD resolution, Bright, bold screen, Very powerful components, Helpful convertible design, Portable size, Great Windows 8 software
  • Converting mechanism feels susceptible to damage, Volume buttons are awkwardly placed, Nowhere to store the stylus
  • The Sony Vaio Duo 11 offers a Full HD screen, a slide-away keyboard and some very powerful specs. It's a great way to take advantage of Windows 8's tiled interface, but you'll need to make sure you don't mistreat that sliding mechanism....

  • Gorgeous highres IPS display, Solid performance benchmarks, Neat stylus with auto palmrejection
  • Awkward design, Glitchy touchscreen, Short battery life
  • While there will be plenty of comparisons made in the coming weeks, the Sony Vaio Duo 11 doesn't make the best first impression for the emerging hybrid ultrabook category. As an ultrabook the Duo 11's awkward keyboard and short battery life hamper the p...

  • Abstract:  Unpacking the Sony Duo 11 (aka the SVD1123CXB) reveals what appears to be a tablet; no keyboard is immediately visible. Yet when you pick it up, it seems a little hefty for a tablet. What's going on here? Well, the Duo 11 is not just a tablet. Lifting ...

  • Bright and crisp full HD display, Accurate stylus, Fast SSD, Plenty of ports
  • Feels heavy in tablet mode, Short battery life, Keyboard feels cramped, Volume buttons hard to reach, No holster for pen
  • The Sony VAIO Duo 11's sliding touch screen and keyboard attempts to deliver the best Windows 8 has to offer, but it doesn't quite succeed....

  • Excellent 1080p IPS screen, Powerful components, Backlit keyboard, Impressively slim
  • No cover or included case for the always-exposed screen, Keyboard isn't great for extended typing, Brief battery life
  • Sony's first hybrid Windows 8 tablet/ultrabook wows us with its 1080p IPS screen and impressive components. Note the compromises, though: Battery life is short, and the keyboard, while backlit, is cramped. Read More...

  • Touch capability. Gorgeous hi-res IPS display. Windows 8. Intel Core i5-3317u processor. 128GB SSD.
  • Awkward design. Glitchy touch screen. Short battery life
  • The Sony VAIO Duo 11 (D11213CX) merges ultrabook and tablet in hopes of making the perfect Windows 8 machine, but it's an awkward combination....

  • The Sony Vaio Duo 11 has a fine set of specs for an ultrabook and an excellent full-HD touch screen on which to take advantage of the Windows 8-style interface
  • The Duo's design misses the mark for use as a tablet and a laptop, feeling like too much of a compromise
  • While there are certainly things to like about the Sony Vaio Duo 11, the design gets in the way of enjoying them.

  • The Windows 8 market is going to be flooded from 26 October, and Sony is offering a decent proposition in the form of the Vaio Duo 11. It's got the power, storage and portability. But we're unconvinced users will flock to this device as it has a £1000...

  • Excellent, high resolution multi-touch display, Lightweight, even for an Ultrabook
  • Extremely limiting keyboard and pointing device, Performance lags behind other Ultrabooks
  • Sony's new 11.6-inch convertible includes a minimalist slider keyboard, but behaves more like a tablet....
