  • Abstract:  As always, it all comes down to this. To date, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, IMO, is the best all-around content management and editing application for photographers. • Superb new noise reduction algorithms; better lens correction tools and support for lens profiles; ability to maintain synchronised collections; great watermarking tool; slideshow module now exports video
  • Still some interface anomalies; Publish Services needs some work; Lightroom's modal nature can still inhibit workflow; lacks some of the frills found in Aperture, $412 (full version); $136 (upgrade)

  • Noise reduction is dramatically improved, More pleasing default RAW rendering, Lens profile-based distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberration correction, Excellent quality for sharp RAW image conversion, Perspective correction, Speed improvements even
  • Curves are hampered by the size of the curves dialog, Post grain effect is not very good, If you own Photoshop CS5, much of what's new here is also in Camera RAW 6, Verdict, Few but significant updates make this a worthy upgrade
  • This review is relatively short becauses there's not a lot of new ground to cover in Lightroom 3, but the new and updated features are significant enough to make this a very compelling upgrade. Problems are minor, and I would think that the small curv...
