  • Abstract:  The Echo Show isn't a great piece of hardware. It's beefy and clunky, and kind of looks like something that fell off the back of a RadioShack truck in the late-80s. The display isn't great (there's a reason the company's not talking specs) and sure, the s...

  • The New Nintendo 2DS XL is basically a 3DS XL, minus the 3D, with a slightly improved design. It gives you access to a huge library of great games, including past DS, NES and SNES classics
  • The tiny stylus is very awkward to use. There's little new here for anyone who already has a 3DS in their bag
  • Amazon's touchscreen Alexa device shows potential for people interested in video chatting with friends and family members, but it needs a little more development before we'd recommend it...

  • The Echo Show offers everything you love about Alexa, complete with new video and touchscreen controls. It shines best as a dedicated, hands-free video calling command center
  • The uninspired design feels dated. At launch, the touchscreen visuals don't do enough to bring Alexa to life, or make her much easier to use -- though that could change with the arrival of new screen-specific Alexa skills
  • Amazon's touchscreen Alexa device shows potential for people interested in video chatting with friends and family members, but it needs a little more development before we'd recommend it...

  • Abstract:  The first night the Amazon Echo Show was in my bedroom I had to carefully lay it face down on my nightstand. The display, which was cycling through my upcoming meetings, most recent news, and the weather, was simply too bright. It was like having a little...

  • Isn't trying to be a tablet, Better sound than other smart speakers, Video conferencing between Shows is easy
  • Not enough screen-enabled skills yet, Could be better sound for the price, Camera can't handle backlit rooms

  • Easy to use, Some Alexa features, like timers and lists, are better with visuals, Plays YouTube videos and gives visual search results, Lots of potential uses for an assistant with a screen
  • Skills still need some work, No privacy shutter
  • The Amazon Echo is $180. The Echo Show is $230. For $50, you get some new perks and a lot of potential. If you've been thinking of grabbing an Echo for a while, you might as well get something that adds video calling, visual search results, and, in time...

  • Gives Alexa a Face, Not a bad entertainment platform, Highly extensible, Excellent hearing
  • Call audio quality sub-par, Needs to make even greater use of the display, Screen is too reflective

  • Alexa is as useful as ever, Hardware is solid and soberly handsome, Touchscreen-enabled apps show some promise
  • Short list of touchscreen-enabled 3rd-party Skills, Teething pains for some Skills on how display is used, Most expensive Echo version yet, Alexa still lacks multi-user support
  • The more I interacted with Alexa via Echo Show, the more the subtle differences versus it and the Echo or Echo Dot became clear. When I use one of the latter, Alexa is decentralized: a disembodied voice, much like a Star Trek ship's computer. In contrast...

  • Alexa takes great advantage of the new touchscreen, Music sounds great over the new speaker, Echo Show does everything the original Echo does, It'll get better over time as developers build skills for the touchscreen
  • Odd, angular design, Low-resolution screen
  • The Echo Show does everything the original Echo does, but many of those features are much better when you add in a screen. Given that the Show is only $50 more than the standard Echo, it'll be a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to add a digital as...

  • Abstract:  Amazon's Echo Show won't be available until Wednesday, but some early reviews are already up and it appears that the critical reception to Amazon's Alexa-powered touchscreen device is mostly positive. While there are a few gripes to be had, early reviewers...
