  • Compact reference design, Power consumption, ZeroCore Power
  • Launch price (not included in our rating)
  • The AMD Radeon HD 7790 meets its primary goal, which is simply to rival the competition. But the price will have to drop quickly. If it doesn't, the point of this card's existence will be debatable....

  • Abstract:  mindre vakum på grafikkortsmarknaden i prissegmentet 1 000 - 1 400 kronor där företagets grafikkort Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition respektive Radeon HD 7850 höll stånd i vardera ände. För att fylla ut gapet mellan dessa två kort lanserar AMD i dag Rade...

  • AMD's new Radeon HD 7790 is the first Sea Islands GPU to find its way to the channel market and Bonaire proves to be very compelling product in the sub-$200 market that is usually quite crowded.  Because of NVIDIA's gap in product that lies between $149 a...

  • Abstract:  The most interesting feature of sub-$200 graphics cards is their ability to transform from mid-range single-card solutions into high-end dual-card ones through the use of multi-GPU technologies like AMD CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI. With dual-GPU capable m...

  • Abstract:  In an industry that has long grown accustomed to annual product updates, the video card industry is one where the flip of a calendar to a new year brings a lot of excitement, anticipation, speculation, and maybe even a bit of dread for consumers and manuf...

  • Let's wrap things up with a couple of our trademark value scatter plots. In both plots, the performance numbers are geometric means of data points from all games tested. (They exclude the synthetic tests at the beginning of the article.) The first plot s...

  • But let me finish things up. The Bonaire based product seems a good fit in the lower segment of the graphics card market. We do like this product as it does offer a nice chunk of extra performance over the R7770, making the R7790 perform closer to the R7...

  • Decent Performance, Cool and Quiet, Affordable, Relatively Low Power
  • Much more performance available for slightly more money
  • The Radeon HD 7790 Reference CardThe new AMD Radeon HD 7790 is a decent little graphics card. There was a gaping hole in AMD's Radeon HD 7000 series graphics card lineup separating the Radeon HD 7770 and Radeon HD 7850, and the Radeon HD 7790 fills that i...

  • Affordable option plays most current PC games well. Good value and performance. Bioshock Infinite bundle.
  • Some newer games won't run perfect at max settings. Doesn't do much to differentiate from the Nvidia competition. A little more money gets you a little more performance.
  • First let's talk performance. for a mid-range to budget GPU the Radeon HD 7790 is everything we have come to expect from the current generation. Neither AMD nor Nvidia are at risk of blowing your socks off when spending less than $250 on either current...
