  • Wireless, Waterproof, Portable, Easy to install, Lots of cloud storage
  • The accompanying app, with its “rules” and “modes” can be confusing, No control over deleting videos off the cloud, Battery issues in cold weather
  • The two-camera pack with four bases costs $350; a single-camera kit is $200, and additional cameras are $160 each. That's pricey, but the free cloud storage is even better than ArcSoft simplicam 's $5-a-month offer. Still, it doesn't have that camera's s...

  • Easy to install, Portable (great for renters), Reliability, Weatherproof, Approachable
  • Limited to base station's wireless range, Base station can't connect to home network wirelessly, No Internet, no Arlo, No API, No HA integration
  • When I first learned of Arlo's existence, the weatherproof (IPX5) 720p wireless cameras and flexible installation were killer features, but I have to admit that I was a bit put off by the price of the hardware ($350-$500). Arlo certainly isn't cheap, but...

  • Simple setup; was up and running for us in under 5 minutes, Much better quality picture than its predecessor, Night Vision and Motion Detection is all in the base model cameras
  • Higher price than comparable higher quality cameras (though lower overall system cost)
  • The Arlo Wireless Camera system is simple to setup and manage, and perfect for home users that don't have on premise storage that want a solution for home security or just general keeping of tabs...

  • Completely wireless, small form factor cameras. Easy to install. Good color and night vision video quality. Free cloud storage. Weatherproof.
  • No audio recording. Lacks dynamic pan, tilt, and zoom functions
  • With Netgear's Arlo Security System, you can place wireless cameras just about anywhere to keep tabs on your home, but you're trading some functionality for battery power....

  • Arlo's 720p video works well whether it's resting on a table near your router or hidden in a tree hundreds of feet away.
  • It doesn't have any audio capabilities and the battery life will vary a lot depending on usage
  • Netgear's Arlo is your answer to un-tethered indoor and outdoor DIY home security -- just make sure you have spare batteries handy....

  • Stylish HD cameras with magnetic mounting, Easy remote access of video and cameras, Promises to integrate with AllSeen-compatible smart-home products
  • Currently only stores video on the Web, Cameras can't be used with other systems
  • Netgear's Arlo security-camera system could be a great Wi-Fi security system if Netgear makes the right decisions with regard to positioning it....

  • Abstract:  My first impression of Netgear's white, pod-like Arlo security camera--reviewed here as part of a two-camera starter pack--was that it might be the progeny of Wall-E and Eva. I wanted to hide behind a rock when the infrared illumination surrounding the le...
