Slightly chunkier than its rival Kindle but somehow lighter, the Nook Simple Touch GlowLight may have found itself a niche in the market. A simple interface makes it easy to use and the social integration with Facebook and Twitter is a fun feature. Th...

Barnes & Noble’s Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight is a darn fine e-book reader. But for the fact that the Kobo Glo delivers the same features for £10 less, I’d recommend the Nook unequivocally. The B&N offering is certainly better - and better value ...
Responsive touchscreen and smart fonts, Edge lighting works very well, Flexibility via microSD and ePUB support, Slightly lighter than the Simple Touch
Rubberised bezel attracts dust, Page turn buttons are a bit stiff
Either way, you really can't go far wrong grabbing a Nook Simple Touch, or a Simple Touch GlowLight, when they arrive in October. Looking at Amazon's line-up, for the same price as the GlowLight's £109 tag, you can pick up a Kindle Touch with Wi-Fi. With...
Ugly ear pads, Dubious wireless dongle design, A little chunky, Wireless LS30s retail for almost half the price
With the Nook having only just made its way over from the States, this is the first time that we've had the opportunity to get our hands on one. We were very impressed with the comfy, square shape of the lightweight device, along with the grippy finis
The Nook SimpleTouch with GlowLight is eerily similar to a Kindle in function, but it coulndn’t look more different. Large bezels, rounded rubber edges, buttons on either side to flip the page: it’s a comfortable solution for reading at length that looks like it can take a few knocks. The design of the Nook SimpleTouch with GlowLight will certainly be divisive: while it’s light (197g), comfortable and easy to hold, this is not as thin and compact as the entry level Amazon Kindle. Of course, the £109 Kindle Touch is a better comparison given it too has a touch display, but it’s something to bear in mind. And...that’s about it, really. Arguments over how necessary a touchscreen
The Nook SimpleTouch with GlowLight is not the cheapest ereader on the market. If you’re after that, have a look in the direction of Kobo, or the now £69 Amazon Kindle with Wi-Fi. You can’t really go wrong with either. But at £109, it’s not too much mo...

Nook Simple Touch Glowlight...
Built-in lighting, Sturdy, Physical page-turn buttons, plus touch screen, Useful social-sharing features, EPub support, AC adapter included
No audio or Web-browsing functions, Slightly lighter text than original Simple Touch, Premium for lighting seems steep, Good 7-inch tablets not much pricier
This e-reader makes E Ink readable in the dark. It's our pick for those not wedded to Amazon or who want access to ePub content from libraries and e-book sellers. (Note, though, that good 7-inch color tablets are getting close in price.) Read More…...
