  • Impressive TCP throughput at long range; USB ports for both printer and storage; BitTorrent client.
  • Glacially slow USB port; bundled software runs on client PCs, not the router.

  • The Belkin Play Max is potentially useful hardware, and easy to set up as a basic wireless router. But the impression that software sub-contractor Affinergy has patched together a bunch of open source functionality without properly thinking it all thr...

  • Advanced feature set surpasses that of most routers in its class. Retains steady throughput rate at varying distances. Two USB ports.
  • Overall throughput average or lower compared with other dual-band and gaming routers. Buggy software. Lack of LEDs. Occasionally dropped Internet connection.
  • A well-intentioned, yet disappointing, dual-band gaming router....

  • Abstract:  The router comes with a two-year warranty that’s longer that the ValetPlus’s one-year and the TEW 651BRI’s three years of coverage. PlayMax is on the pricey side, but comes with a software ecosystem that the other router makers have yet to duplicate.

  • Dualband 802.11n/g/b antennas, Easy initial setup w/ default encryption, USB ports for printer sharing
  • Some features hidden in the settings, Gaming Mode is outdated, Monitor app is annoying

  • Abstract:  The Play Max is positioned at the top of Belkin's recently refreshed 802.11n Wi-Fi router line. It costs twice as much as the entry-level Surf ($50), but the package supplies you with a dual-band router plus Belkin's full assortment of wireless network...

  • Jumbo frames not supported, Admin password can be left blank, No network activity indicators, Poorly documented applications, Most applications run on computer, not in router
  • Broadcom-based 2T2R dual-radio, dual-band 802.11n router w/ Gigabit WAN and LAN ports, USB drive file sharing and easy installation features....

  • The Belkin Play Max Wireless Router is compact, supports true dual-band, Gigabit Ethernet, guest networking, network storage, and USB printers. It offers fast wireless performance and a long range
  • The Belkin Play Max Wireless Router requires the Belkin Router Manager software to be running on a computer for its advanced features to work. It is confusing to set up and use, doesn't have any status indicator lights, and its network storage performance
  • The Belkin Play Max Wireless Router seems like a simple and fast wireless router, but its useless desktop software and cumbersome USB-related features make it less appealing than other options.

  • Abstract:  Setting up a router should be the easiest part of your day. There is no reason the average person needs to think about SSIDs, WPA, and pre-shared keys. Thankfully, folks like Belkin are looking out for us morons. Their new line of routers feature four ...
