  • nerviger Sucher, außer Videofunktion keine wirklich neuen Features

  • Whopping 15.1 megapixels, Higher ISO settings, Colourful, intuitive LCD screen, New exposure aids, HD video recording
  • Pricy if HD video doesnt appeal, Only 1080p HD video recording, Slower than the cheaper 40D, Noisy dial buttons, Lacks external mic socket

  • Abstract:  Announced in late March, Canons EOS 500D is another in-betweener model, like the Nikon D5000 and Olympus E-620 we reviewed recently. Positioned between the 450D and the 50D, the EOS 500D offers the same effective resolution of 15.1 megapixels as the...

  • Fast performance; very nice photo quality; HD video capture.
  • Annoying viewfinder; video capture is its only better-than-basic feature.
  • A solid, slightly better-than-basic dSLR, the Canon EOS Rebel T1i delivers photo quality and performance that adequately compensates for most of its annoyances.

  • High resolution and broad sensitivity, HD movie mode and HDMI output, VGA screen with accurate Live View, Remote control and RAW software supplied.
  • Needs decent optics to exploit resolution, Screen fixed in position, unlike several rivals, 1080p only at 20fps and no external mic input, Some focusing issues with our sample.
  • Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i verdict Canon’s EOS 500D / Rebel T1i is a feature-packed DSLR which boasts a wide variety of improvements over its predecessor, the best-selling EOS 450D / Rebel XSi. Like many new DSLRs, the 500D / T1i inherits a number o...

  • Abstract:  It could be a sign of the rapidly-expanding DSLR market that Canon has had difficulty getting the kind of admiration for its new entry-level DSLRs that it got for the likes of the EOS 350D. And with new DSLRs announced virtually every month, its hardl...

  • Abstract:  Verdict: The 500D is a worthy successor to the 450D, but the video mode is disappointing and the large sensor is let down by the kit lens. With the EOS 450D, Canon had to find a balance between building on its predecessor and keeping the price withi...
