  • Integrated Thermal Sensor, Good performance, High profile aluminum heat spreaders, MOD utility to monitor memory temperatures...
  • Limited overclocking headroom, Unable to run with 1T command rate...
  • This set of Crucial Ballistix memory modules, rated at DDR3-1600 running at 8-8-8-24 with 1.65v, is on par with the other memory modules we put it up against. The thing that makes this set stand out is the introduction of the integrated thermal sensor...

  • This particular Crucial Ballistix kit works extremely well on AMD-based platforms and they are quite versatile in regards to the speeds and timings that they can run. We found that with little effort we were able to get these sticks clocking well with...

  • Attractive Heatsink, Overclocks quite well at stock timings (88824), Is stable at 1520mhz with tighter timings (77720 – results may vary), First on the market to include a builtin temperature probe
  • Won’t overclock past 1820mhz (is that a con with 1600mhz ram?)
  • Crucial is yet again breaking the norm – in this instance by including a temperature probe on the dimms PCBs themselves. However, whilst these dimms are clearly aimed at enthustiasts/overclockers, disappointingly I couldn’t get these dimms past 1800mhz...

  • Abstract:  How to differentiate the very essence of homogeneityStating the somewhat obvious, system memory is an integral part of any computer. Everyone needs it and many a manufacturer has tried its hand at producing the very best modules. The generic nature o...

  • Great Overclocker, Looks stylish, Performs well, Temp sensors
  • Does no come packaged with the Crucial M.O.D. software
  • The Crucial Ballistix 1600 Mhz ram preformed better than most would have thought. It offers a lot of potential to overclockers and enthusiasts. The Ballistix excelled in our tests. The higher the Mhz, the better it proved to be. Even though I was limit...

  • Decent price, Thermal monitoring built in
  • High voltage requirement to run at stock speed, Limited overclocking potential
  • Crucial's Ballistix range of high performance DDR3 memory modules are well known amongst the overclocking fraternity offering faster clock speeds and lower latencies and in some instances fancy LED displays, than the standard Crucial product range. The...

  • looking effective heat spreaders, Innovative temperature monitoring, Decent overclocking, despite not being optimised for AMD CPUs, Crucial's excellent customer support, Lifetime warranty.
  • Possible height compatibility issues with larger coolers.
  • At the time of writing this review, this kit isn't yet available to buy, it should be released in the next week or so. and is set to retail at around £119 on Crucial's on-line store. That puts it about £2 more than the low profile 4GB Ballistix kit an...

  • XMP profile for 8-8-8-24 timings at 1600MHz, Good bit of headroom for overclocking, Finned heatsinks and thermal sensors provided to enhance performance, Moderately priced compared to kits with similar specifications, Limited lifetime warranty
  • Current release of monitoring utility is still in Beta and may be flaky, Other than the thermal sensor, there's nothing really new
  • The Crucial 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 kit with thermal sensor offered rock solid performance during our testing. In most of our testing, the stock speed results were comparable with other 1600MHz kits on hand, and we were able to get about a 250MHz overclock...

  • In any field someone always has to be the fore-runner. The bow that breaks the waves to allow everyone else to follow in the wake. More often than not that very fore-runner is quickly overtaken by everyone else as they refine and improve the process.Sadly...
