There's a lot to love and a lot to hope for with the Nexus Q. If you are a Google Play content consumer, the Q could be a useful device for you. As of this writing, Google TV doesn't have a Google Movies/TV Show app available (though it is promised soon)
The limited featureset is the biggest negative here. Right now, Android fans only need apply. It won't do anyone else any good. Even Android fans will have a hard time seeing all the benefits if they aren't totally bought into the Google ecosystem. I get
I said a lot of things that sound like the Q is not a great device, but I have to admit, I kinda love mine. Sure, I don't have many Google Movies to play through it, but the music integration is excellent, and I love being able to quickly load up a YouTub...
Abstract: AS CONSUMERS start to own more than one device, the need for a separate device to act as a central 'command centre' becomes more apparent in daily life. Google recently announced the Nexus Q at the I/O developer conference, a self-produced entertainment m...

Attractive design, Easy setup
Only works on Android 2.3 and later, Expensive, Limited functionality and content selection
Though the Nexus Q is a beautiful and easy-to-use piece of hardware, it suffers from a dearth of content and an unjustifiably high price.
Fanden Sie diesen Testbericht...
Abstract: Let’s assume for a moment that you are a member of the Android team at Google. You’ve decided that you really like the concept behind Apple’s AirPlay, but you believe you have a better way to go about it. You develop the concept, present it to your su...
No. Well, if 320kbps is just what you like, you have all of your music on Google Play, a fast internet connection and $US300 doesn't sound like much money for you, then sure. For everybody else, this would be a cool novelty item (or it will be if once the...
The Nexus Q is an absolutely gorgeous looking device, and one that’ll be sought after long after it’s been left for dead by Google in the future. But know this: that’s a long, long time away from now. Google will hopefully take the capabilities of thi...

Attractively designed. Built-in amp. Integrates well with Android Music and YouTube apps. NFC app link is handy (assuming your Android device supports NFC).
Expensive. Requires an Android smartphone or tablet to work. Can't play video stored on your Android device. No Netflix or Hulu Plus. No streaming audio apps
Google's Nexus Q is a good-looking media hub, but its meager app selection and reliance on Android devices don't come close to justifying its high price....
