  • Abstract:  Chinese OEM honor may have only been around for a couple of years, but the Huawei subsidiary has recently been trying to make a splash in global markets. Last month, it introduced the new honor 5X to the US market at CES and today at an event in Germany...

  • The Honor 5X looks to be another great value phone from Huawei's sub-brand. It offers excellent design and build with some solid specs too. It is missing some elements such as NFC and 11ac Wi-Fi so you might be better off spending a little more on the Hon...

  • Classy metal casing, Fingerprint reader at a low price, Fingerprint shortcuts, Lengthy battery life
  • Occasionally sluggish touchscreen, Aggravating Emotion UI
  • By no means a clean sweep, but this budget Android phone is still a surprisingly good bargain...

  • good screen, good camera, dualsim, microSD card slot, good battery, nice feel, great fingerprint scanner
  • not latest version of Android, battery not removable, EMUI won't be to everyone's taste, software not well optimised, occasional lag, no quick charging
  • The Honor 5X is one of the best lower-priced large-screen smartphones available. It's not quite as cheap as a Motorola Moto G, but has features more akin to a decent mid-range smartphone costing in excess of £300. The great fingerprint scanner alone sets...

  • Beautiful build, Affordable, Fingerprint scanner
  • Clunky interface, Average camera, Only 16GB of built in storage
  • The Honor 5X could almost pass for a flagship in both looks and performance, but a few things were sacrificed to achieve the low price...

  • Taken together, the Honor 5X just has one too many flaws to warrant a full recommendation. It might be one of the only phones you can buy under £200 with a fingerprint sensor, but for me it still can't beat the simplicity and superior build quality of the...
