  • Abstract:  Im September 2009 stellte Intel erstmals seine Lynnfield-Prozessoren in Form der Core i5-7x0und Core i7-8x0 vor (), im Januar 2010 folgten die Clarkdale-CPUs alias Core i3-5x0 und Core i5-6x0 (). Allen gemeinsam ist der feste Multiplikator, einzig die...

  • Abstract:  When it comes to Intel processors, the word “unlocked” is not synonymous with low-priced mainstream products - it’s a feature normally reserved for flagship ‘Extreme Edition’ CPUs that bear higher price tags. Things are set to change today because Int...

  • Intel Core i7-875K: Unlocked multiplier for simplified overclocking. Costs a lot less than similar, locked CPU.Intel Core i5-655K: Unlocked multiplier for simplified overclocking.
  • Intel Core i7-875K: Aside from the multiplier, no other change in features from the Core i7-870.Intel Core i5-655K: Functionally identical to Core i5-650. System builders may not want to pay $40 more for overclocking privileges with only a dual-core chip.
  • If you're really into overclocking, you might like the extra opportunity afforded by the unlocked multiplier on the Core i5-655K. The Core i7-875K is a terrific deal for enthusiasts who like swimming in the mainstream. Buy it now...

  • Core i5-655k is a ‘fun’ chip, we had so much fun overclocking it. The Core i7-875k is probably the best value for money processor Intel have released this decade. Crank it !!...

  • Abstract:  Now our particular samples weren't exactly that great when we actually got down to overclocking. We certainly could have achieved similar results with default locked multipliers. We don't believe that Intel is binning these K-series processors for their overclokability, nor have Intel ever claimed to be doing so. Having said that, it will..

  • Intel definitely saw the need to do more to compete with AMD than release a very small amount of Extreme Edition CPUs at the highest $1000+ price point and the release of two new CPUs with unlocked cores for just a little above the retail price of thei...

  • Abstract:  All things considered, I think Intel has a winning proposition with the introduction of these processors to the market. They offer a flexibility in overclocking that was in the past reserved for the biggest (and most expensive) dog on the block in Intel's lineup. They come in at a reasonable price point and overclock like stink. If a socket 1156 rig is in your future, then the i7 875 should be the processor for you.

  • Abstract:  However, there are specific situations when unlocked processors like Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K can become an irreplaceable part of your system. First, these CPUs will undoubtedly become the users’ first pick for extreme overclocking experiments. Very often when we use advanced cooling methods it..
