Abstract: We're no strangers to Optoma projectors. Today I'm looking at the HD25 and the HD25LV-two 3D 1080p models that just came to market. We've reviewed the HD65, the HD20, the HD72...and the HD33 among others. That last model came out a couple years ago and...
Abstract: The Optoma HD25-LV is a higher brightness version of their popular HD25 built for living room use. The HD25-LV costs a little bit more; it sells for $1299 while the HD25 currently retails for $949. However, that extra $350 gets you over double the ligh...
Consider Optoma's HD25-LV projector to be a very serious projector for your family room, living room, and other environments where room conditions are not ideal. The projector has some real strengths allowing it to surpass the overall performance of most...
Abstract: The Optoma HD25 is a great little projector. Its bright, sparkling HD image is perfect for home theater, and its bargain price of $949 makes it an exceptional value. While the HD25 has some flaws, those flaws are all related to usability, not image qua...
Superb 3D with no crosstalk, Highly accurate colours (average Delta E = 2.7), Very little rainbow effect
Noisy fan, No lens shift, No motion interpolation, 3D glasses and RF emitter not included, Grey shading too cold/blue: 8,110 kelvins
The Optoma HD25 is good value for your money. Only problem is, the BenQ W1070 is a similar device with just slightly better quality (the image is more finely tuned and it has more connectivity). The HD25 falls just short of five stars....

Excellent out-of-the-box greyscale accuracy, Calibrated greyscale approaches reference, Excellent calibrated colour gamut, Motion handling in both 2D and 3D is very good, Bright image in both 2D and 3D, 3D performance has no crosstalk, One pair of glasses
Black levels are mediocre in 2D, Dynamic range is limited by black levels, Out-of-the-box colour gamut could be better, Clipping white and the primary colours, No lens shift feature, Lenses on 3D glasses too dark, HDMI handshaking is temperamental, Remote
Excellent value for money, Good picture quality for the price, Living-room friendly design
No vertical image shift, Operational noise can be distracting, Minor rainbow effect
Almost inevitably, given its low price, the HD25 isn't perfect. Its minor rainbow effect and running noise issues might be an issue for some people, especially if they have to sit close to their screen and/or the projector. Overall, though, the HD25 remai...
