Great graphics and some innovative, accessible gameplay could have made this a hit with an audience normally frightened off by RPGs. If only the core characters and the story had a stronger appeal....

Stellar gameplay; fun combat; a compelling (albeit familiar) story; and enough content to keep you playing for at least a hundred hours.
Lots of Mimics make opening treasure chests hazardous; real-time combat is a blast, but may be daunting for some RPG players who prefer turn based battles.
Rogue Galaxy is an excellent example of what an RPG should be. This is easily the best game of 2007 so far.

Immense amount of content outside of the core mission; varied gameplay, all of which is fun; beautiful cel-shading and presentation.
Story is so-so; characters dont have much depth either; framerate issues occasionally.
