Poor sequential write performance (Waiting for driver)
Good case airflow is needed, Poor sequential write performance (Waiting for driver)
After the great success of Samsung's 950 PRO, the announcement of its successor, the 960 PRO, had our attention immediately. The 950 PRO is arguably one of the most popular M.2 NVMe-based SSDs for avid system builders and is the go-to drive for those with...

Classleading M.2 NVMe performance. Nice capacity range. Excellent endurance ratings. Only 80mm long (even the 2TB model). Fiveyear warranty.
In our treasured 24 hours with the 960 Pro, we are struggling to come up with a con. While it is competitively priced, it can't hurt to ask for a discount ;).

The 960 Pro broke a slew of our storage testing records, so we have little doubt it will take first place in our performance rankings. Drumroll, please... First place, and how! It's a meaty margin of victory. Intel's 750 Series drive is forced to relinqu...

Blistering performance, Record sequential read and write speeds, Supports latest interface and NVMe protocol, Includes drive management and data migration tools, High endurance rating, Very attractive price
Random read/write performance can be a little erratic, Only available in M.2 form factor
Unsurprisingly, the new Samsung SSD 960 Pro proved to be a fast drive, but perhaps not quite as fast and consistent as we had hoped. Sequential read and write speeds were mostly astonishing and amazing. But when it came to smaller data block and random re...
The fastest consumer SSD, A large 2TB capacity option, Singlesided design for increased compatibility
Prosumer pricing, No eDrive support, Missing features (NVMe Driver 2.0 And Magician)
The best just got better, but Samsung priced the 960 Pro out of reach for many users. We get a little excited when Ferrari releases a new model with more power and higher efficiency, but not enough to go into debt to make it personal. If you run profe...
