Part smartwatch, part fitness tracker. Supports bicycling. Records sleep. Smartwatch notifications are well implemented. Touch-screen enabled. Very, very pretty.
Not functionally independent; requires a supported Samsung device. Pedometer not enabled by default. Touch screen too sensitive to use while in motion. Requires two apps to use fully. Short battery life
The gorgeous Samsung Gear Fit is part fitness tracker and part smartwatch, but it's mainly an accessory for recent Samsung devices; if you want either an activity tracker or a smartwatch specifically, you can do better....
I need to spend a bit more time with the Gear Fit before I can cast a proper judgement but so far it's making for a nifty fitness companion. The limit to Samsung devices will be a bugbear for a lot of people, especially when they see how nice that screen...

Water resistant, Decent battery life, Useful as a second screen
Heart rate monitor doesn't always work, No third-party apps
Wearables are still a bit of a difficult subject. While they are still yet to enrich our lives like the smartphone has, they remain massively cool gadgets. The Gear Fit sits right at the top of the cool pile, delivering just enough functionality to justify...
The common narrative in consumer gadgets these days is that wearable gizmos like the Gear Fit will be one of the next big computing platforms. But when you look at the current state of these devices, it's pretty clear there's a lot of work to do. No one h...
