  • Small (ish) form factor (fits into jacket pocket)
  • Vocal prompts from the camera itself begin to grate after a while
  • The HD2000s biggest stumbling block apart from the occasional fuzzy image is its manufacturers suggested retail price at the time of writing: £549. For that outlay you could buy an excellent starter digital SLR and standard zoom lens (the Canon 1000D...

  • Theres no doubt that the Sanyo Xacti HD2000 has cleverly packed in more features than youd expect from its gadget-y looking exterior, and fun to use it is too. But, if youve £549 to spend and your bias is towards still images, there are very obviou...

  • Superb video and stills. Manual features. Connectivity
  • Pistol-style grip. No SD card supplied
  • Knockout images and a bunch of creative features for those who won’t settle for ‘auto’. Shame about the handgrip though ...

  • With each new model, Sanyo gets that little bit closer to producing a camcorder to compete with the best available. The Xacti VPC-HD2000 is another step in the right direction. We still don't like the fact that no 50fps version more suited to European sta...

  • Simple, easy to use, Full HD looks crisp and impressive
  • Basic in its feature set, youll need a powerful computer to edit the footage, youll need a big SD card
  • If the price was slightly lower, which it no doubt will be online, this is one still worth a closer look...
