Still addictive as hell; new tweaks enhance gameplay; stable as the place you store your horses; new cultural policies add a fantastic RPG element.
New city-states feature is a double-edged sword; games lack a sense of character; some omissions from multiplayer hurt that experience.
Keeping a franchise alive and kicking, not to mention fresh, after twenty years can't be easy. In many respects, these changes, this new ‘direction' if you will actually isn't surprising. Would a “Civ IV plus whatever” game really have been just as good...
Looks superb; plays well – not too complex or too simple

Strategisches Kampfsystem, 3DStaatoberhäupter, Frisches Interface, Berater wieder da, Stadtsaaten, Hoher Suchtfaktor, Übersichtlicheres Forschungssystem, Viele positive Änderungen alter Features
