  • Lightweight, portable, Simple, Good for laptops with no bottom vents
  • Blocks bottom fans, potentially overheating the laptop and eliminating the purpose of the cooling pad
  • The iXoft failed to cool my laptop. In fact, it almost caused the laptop to overheat! The bottom fan was blocked, preventing cool airflow to the innards. Users with bottom-fanned laptops should probably avoid the iXoft. Others, however, might decide t...

  • Fanless, Cools your laptop, Truly Silent, Look great
  • A bit heavy
  • Well the Thermaltake iXoft is a truly fanless solution that works and works well for what it is, I was truly surprised at the temperatures I got while using the iXoft. I honestly didnt expect more than 1-2 degrees difference in the temps with and wit...

  • Abstract:  Weight is a major concern for those who buy a laptop. Since it’s supposed to be carried around, it has to be as lightweight as possible. Most people don’t realize however that heat is also an issue. Notebooks have a tendency to get really hot...

  • No power consumption, Silent operation, Flexible and portable
  • Might not be as effective as active cooling.
  • With its passive heatshift technology, the iXoft is a unique notebook cooler yet it still manages to do an effective job. There are a lot of advantages to this cooler including silent operation, no power consumption, and portability. No fans, no wire...

  • Surprisingly effective laptop cooling, No fans, no noise, No power required, Portable: lightweight and foldable, Use it next time you need to get a bundt cake out of the oven
  • Costs more than many traditional laptop coolers
  • The Thermaltake iXoft R15ON02 Notebook Cooling Pad is a surprisingly effective device. Initially I had doubts that something that looked like a pot holder would do anything but insulate the base of the computer and actually make it warmer. In testing, ...

  • Does as it states, Doesn’t take up much real estate, Silent, and doesn’t use power, Extends life of your laptop
  • Only two color choices, Slippery top surface, Its a little spendy, but considering the alternatives, its worth it
  • If you are one of those people that use their laptop on the go constantly – this unit comes highly recommended – as it is effective and does actually work. If you’re not into white, you can get it in black too. If I had to guess on...

  • Works great!! Makes using a laptop on my lap a much more comfortable experience.
  • Slippery surface needs some decent feet on the laptop to keep from sliding around (or onto the floor).
  • Laptop’s these days are getting a lot more powerful, and along with that power comes a lot of heat. Some laptops obviously get hotter than others, and my MacBook Pro would be nearing the top of that list. When it’s running hard it can get...

  • Abstract:  Personally, I have to admit, I am not a big fan of notebook coolers. With regards to the fact that laptops do often generate their own share of heat, from my experience the energy exerted from the computer is within my tolerance level. However, laptop ...
