  • We're not impressed by some aspects of the new capacitive touch screen, which is a real shame as otherwise it's an impressive sat-nav with seamless integration of the impressive GPRS-based LIVE services, and the new magnetic mount deserves heaps of pra...

  • Capacitive touchscreen, slick design, redesigned interface, excellent performance
  • Voice command is hit and miss, not notably faster at recalculating routes, no traffic capabilities, no Australian text-to-speech voice, MyTomTom software currently limited
  • The TomTom GO 1000 is one of the best-equipped GPS navigation devices on the market, making it ideal for those who use a sat nav every day. The user experience is slick, functional and very well designed. However, less frequent users will get better value...

  • The TomTom GO Live 1000 is one of the best-equipped GPS navigation devices on the market, making it ideal for those who use a sat nav every day. Less frequent users will get better value out of cheaper units, but the GO 1000 is slick, functional and v...

  • Looks. Capacitive touchscreen. Spiffed up interface. Fast routing. Magnetic windscreen mount
  • Missing camera warnings. New MyTomTom PC software lacks most of TomTom Home's functionality. Voice recognition spotty at best. Glossy screen suffers from distracting daytime reflections
  • The Go 1000's story is one of potential unfulfilled. It may be a winner after a patch or two and when the PC software's been made to work as it should, but until then it's hard to recommend....

  • The Go Live 1000 is speed demon of a satnav, able to calculate routes and re-route a lot faster than its rivals. Factor in its excellent Live services (free for a year), which serve up real time traffic updates, the locations of mobile speed cameras and the ability to find locations using Google’s Local Search tech, and you’ve got a fantastically capable, fast-acting satnav. It’s £47 per year to
  • There’s isn’t much to pick at here, except perhaps the price. The Go Live 1000 is more expensive than most of its rivals, and if you don’t find yourself using satnav regularly you might not feel like you’re getting the best value for money.
