  • The second sample Western Digitals SE16 Caviar WD3200AAKS-00B3A0 is pretty much what we hoped it would be: A hard drive quiet enough for silent PC enthusiasts. Its single platter design and optimization for low noise seem to have worked, at least in ...

Aktuelle Pre...

  • Abstract:  The big story on the WD Caviar SE16 640GB 7K (WD6400AAKS) is that uses 320GB per-platter technology. Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR) translates to greater density. Anandtech wrote "This type of areal density places WD in direct competition with ...

  • Abstract:  March 26, 2008 By Vince Freeman Although we experienced a relatively sharp spike in data capacity, the Serial ATA hard drive market has been stalled at the one Terabyte level. All the major competitors have hit the fabled 1TB mark, but as is often the cas...

  • Although the Caviar SE16 640GB doesnt break new ground in storage capacity, platter density, or cache size, Western Digital has struck a good balance between those elements and delivered perhaps the most capable 3.5" hard drive weve ever tested. Thro...

  • Abstract:  Video Review: The Western Digital Caviar SE16 750GB Hard Drive (WD7500AAKS) is one of the largest hard drives currently on the market. Why does anyone need a hard drive this large? Well, if you are asking this question, you probably don't. On the other hand, if you have or are building a Home Theatre PC you most certainly can have definite use of a massive hard drive. Movies, family videos, music, TV shows, games and other data requires a lot of space. This hard drive performs very well, is quiet and affordable. It's a must have for any serious computer user. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.
