TestSeek's Expert Reviews Summary

The Altec Lansing Expressionist BASS FX3022 is a 2.0 computer speaker set which impresses most of the editors both with their design and audio quality. Instead of a separate subwoofer unit, the bass speaker is build into the speakers themselves. This design generally works fine and produces good audio quality but it may cause the table to vibrate at higher volumes. Most of the reviewers like the design of the product but they do reserve them selves by saing that "taste is individual"...indeed. Most editors think that the price is a little steep for the quality/sound of these speakers. They are often compared to Creative G-series speakers which most editors believe are better, at least when the price is considered as well.

The editors liked

  • Really good sound
  • Capable of producing high sound levels
  • Nice design
  • Subwoofer are built into speakers

The editors didn't like

  • Too much bass sometimes
  • Not possible to adjust bass
  • Sound gets distorted at high volumes

TestSeek's Conclusion

Good looking and smartly designed speakers with high audio quality. A litlle too expensive; there are cheaper PC 2.1 speaker sets which gives you better value.

  • While the looks are an acquired taste there's a lot to like about the Altec Lansing Expressionist Bass speakers. Their innovative driver arrangement delivers balanced but powerful bass and good overall sound quality. A couple of design issues and a slight...

  • Impressive design, built-in subwoofers have ample mid-bass
  • Harsh treble, no remote volume control or input
  • While these speakers aren’t particularly refined for music listening, ample bass makes them well suited to movies and gaming. ...

  • Good bass, Clean highs and lows, Space-saving design
  • Distorted at high volumes, Not as clear as more expensive sets
  • The Expressionist Bass speakers are very good at producing clean and balanced audio across the board, and they’re our top pick at this price point. While we loved that they took up a minimum of space, we thought the integrated subwoofers muddied up...

  • Stylish, easy to use/setup, good sound for the price
  • Sub on your desk means that your desk will vibrate, no remote, sound slightly thin
  • Stylish and creates a good sound for the cash - these will liven up your desk tunes. A viable alternative to the Creative G series...

  • Great looks, Good design, Glossy finish.
  • No bass or treble settings, Poor acoustics, Poor reproduction of mids, Expensive.
  • The Altec Lansing FX 3022 sells for around Rs.6,490 with a 1-year warranty. Now the pricing may seem exorbitant, but remember that you are not only paying for the sound but also for the superb design. The speaker system has already managed to bag an a...
