• Abstract: Omdömena skiljer sig åt när det gäller den här DVD-inspelaren med hårddisk, testarna enas dock om att den gör ett bra jobb vid avspelning av DVD.

• Abstract: VHS is dying; the grave is dug and the headstone carved, and its successors are fighting over the spoils. VHSs victory over Betamax in the 1980s led to 20 years of undisputed domination in the home-recording market. Picture quality was poor, tapes ...

• Abstract: Spec: Remote control, DVD recorder / HDD recorder, Stereo, JPEG photo playback
Good: Relatively inexpensive; easy to use; roomy 160GB hard disk; high-speed dubbing to HDD or DVD; chasing playback; solid editing features; records to DVD+R/+RW/-R/-RW; FireWire input; copies images, MP3s, and WMAs to the hard drive; records audio CDs.
Bad: Long hard-disk recordings cause lip-sync errors; wont let you watch one taped show while recording another; no onscreen programming guide or IR blaster; cant record video at one speed and dub in another.
Bottomline: Despite a decent price and easy-to-use functions, the LVW-5045 suffers from a lip-sync glitch and a hobbled feature set.
• Large 160GB hard drive gives 66 hours of good-quality video storage; progressive-scan video; wide format support; can copy DVDs to hard drive
• Basic design; simple remote control
• The Liteon LVW-5045 is a bargain combi recorder, but with Toshibas RD-XS34 available at the same price, wed have to recommend the latter. However, this is still a good recorder with an easy-to-use operating system, and when Liteon adds Freeview and ...

• 160GB of storage, Can copy music, pictures, movies to HDD, DV Link, Easy to use, Recording quality is good (at least in HQ and SP mode), Good set of features, Affordable, Easy to upgrade firmware
• Not a dual tuner unit cant record two shows at once, cant record one and watch another simultaneously, No MPEG4 support, Manual needs more detail, Remote is flaky and not laid out very well, Experienced DVD playback issues
• My quick general conclusion about HDD recorders is that if you can afford one over a VCR or DVD recorder, then get one. Its so much more convenient to have 33-198 hours (with a 160GB HDD like the LVW-5045; other units capacity and recording time may...

• No "transcoding" function to fit higher quality video on a DVD disc, No SVideo output, does not always achieve full writing speed when copying content from the hard drive to DVD discs (media list needs to be improved)
• The LiteOn LVW-5045 is a very impressive device as far as its appearance is concerned. It undoubtedly stands out from other, usually black, stand-alone devices. We connected the LiteOn using all provided connections in order to test them. For audio, ...
