Abstract: A new gas range is a serious investment. That's why the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances and Technology Lab put 15 of the newest models to the test. We boiled and simmered 3,360 ounces of water, baked 1,335 cookies, made 62 cakes, toasted bread, and broiled steaks to nail down the best of the best. We also noted the ease-of-use of the controls, handles, knobs, the efficacy of the self-clean cycle, and so much more.
