  • Abstract:  Portable Sound Labsis the company behind iMainGo, a portable external speaker kit for your portable device such as an iPhone or touch. They sent me a test unit quite some time ago ,and somehow it made its way into the back of the closet. Since that t...

  • Abstract:  Well, looks like we missed another hot booth. Portable Sound Labs was showing off the iMainGo, a unique mini-speaker system for iPod that runs on four AAA batteries. The speakers have an alarm function that can be set through the speakers themselves. I...

  • Excellent room-filling sound, supports iPod alarms, volume competes with some larger systems
  • No ‘D’ clip for carriage, no iPod recharge feature, price competes with larger systems
  • Intense competition among iPod-product vendors should mean consumers get to choose among quality products, and this speaker-cum-case system is a quality cut. We hope future versions of iMainGo add iPod recharging to the mix, but if this is what Portab...

  • Speakers built-in, powered by one AA battery, padded trays for different sized iPods
  • Bulky, Could just buy the Samsung K5 with built-in speaker
  • Great for sharing tunes at picnics its bulky size might deter you from packing it in your suitcase

  • Abstract:  If iHomes iH19 is the Maserati Gran Tourismo of portable iPod speakers, the iMainGo is more of a Ford Mondeo. It works, and does its job reasonably well, but without any of the panache or power of the iH19.

  • Abstract:  iMainGo is a tiny iPod stereo speaker system that sounds a lot better than a speaker system so small has a right to sound. Measuring just 5.7 inches by 3.8 inches by 2.4 inches, and weighing in at a mere 9 ounces, iMainGo is a teeny, tiny titan that fi...

  • Abstract:  Weve seen a number of "speaker cases" for the iPod -- hardshell cases with a speaker (or two) built-in. Unfortunately, none have impressed us; theyve either been cheaply made or sounded horrible (or both). So we didnt have high expectations for the...
