  • Very good image quality. Sensor-based image stabilization.
  • Overpriced. Too noisy at high ISOs.
  • Borrowing its design from the Konica-Minolta 5D, Sonys first D-SLR may not be original or very affordable, but its nice image quality and robust feature set are promising....

  • Abstract:  No one will be surprised that Sonys first digital SLR camera bears a strong resemblance to one of Konica Minoltas models. Sony took over the camera division of the illustrious brand and the two companies had been working together even before the take...

  • Abstract:  The Sony Alpha 100 is one of the most eagerly anticipated cameras of the year. When Konica Minolta announced that they would no longer be selling DSLRs it seemed a bad day for the industry. Konica Minolta (and before them plain Minolta) hadnt really ...

  • Excellent level of specification for price, complete camera system already in place, great image quality, Super Steady Shot, Anti Dust system, Eye Start, battery life, D-Range Optimiser, good ergonomics
  • Noise reduction reduces fine detail, LCD screen lacks punch
  • It’s simple to use, offers high-resolution images and has plenty of handy kit built in. And while it feels, well, a tad clunky it’s an excellent bit of kit well worth a look

  • Abstract:  The new Sony Digital SLR Camera is set to upset the camera market with Sony now having the product that could take them to #1 in the SLR market. Sony want to dominate in the Digital SLR market and rather than go it alone in developing new lenses and o...

  • Abstract:  Not flawless, but Sonys debut DSLR impresses with a 10.2-megapixel resolution and built-in anti-shake Sony may be one of the biggest names in digital cameras, but its so far avoided digital SLRs. Recognising this expanding market but lacking the app...

  • 10.2 megapixels; in-camera image stabilisation; eye-start autofocus
  • ISO tops out at ISO 1,600; auto white balance is warm with tungsten light
  • Sonys Alpha DSLR-A100 deserves consideration whether youre looking for an alternative to Canon and Nikon, you already own a selection of Dynax AF lenses, or youre looking for your first digital SLR ...
